Celebration of MFG Day

We are excited to announce the start of Manufacturing Month.  This collaborative event, in partnership with William S. Hart District, College of the Canyons, Santa Clarita Economic Development Corporation, Califonia Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC), City of Santa Clarita, and local business partners, expands upon the idea of our traditional Manufacturing Day event held in previous years.

This year's event will be virtual with industry partners connected directly with individual classrooms for a singular one-on-one experience.  The virtual format will engage more than 6,000 (should this be 7,000?) 7th - 12th-grade SCV students in their classrooms.  Businesses in Santa Clarita are invited to share information on their companies and the many careers available in the manufacturing and advanced technology industries.

Deliotte and The Manufacturing Institute study found that the US Manufacturing skills gap could leave as many as 2.1 million jobs unfilled by 2030 (Deliott, 2021).  Events like Manufacturing Month empower manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.

This year, manufacturing day will be partnered with two conversations of business and educational leaders discussing the Future of Work.  Please join us to listen to these leaders discuss how to best prepare your student for the changing world of work.
